A Look at the Laptop Manufacturers

There are so many computer manufacturers in this day and age that it’s difficult to figure out which one is good. Luckily, I’ve done all the research for you and can tell you.

Dell has been the leader in business laptops but their market share has declined in recent years. The new laptops are pretty slick though so it’s definitely work a look but the quality is only okay.

Apple makes sleek looking products and they look the nicest hands down. Their prices are quite a bit higher though so you may want to seriously think about it before you jump on board.

The laptops from gateway is just not that great. Many have experienced quality issues and the price isn’t awesome to begin with. If you find an once in a lifetime sale, then go ahead but don’t get it at normal price.

The Acer laptops in North America are coming together too. The specs are good for the price, the size is right and the design is decent. It’s an asian manufacturer but who cares right?

With Microsoft really cracking down on software piracy and coming up with extremely clever ways to stop everyone from copying Windows, many people are slowly not buying eMachines anymore.

Sony can really corner the market with a complete solution since they have the gaming console, laptop and electronics like TVs. If they can only come up with clever software solutions, they will be really good.

Check out the HP laptops because they are solid and have good quality and warranty service. If you like the performance of a particular model, I wouldn’t hesitate to just buy it.

If you don’t mind the black boring look, Lenovo laptops are actually a pretty good option. Check out their systems and you might be surprised at the specs of those laptops.

Nokia has a netbook so it’s technically a player in the field. You know their cell phone technology is unbeatable and their design is good too.

Microsoft Putting Out Misinformation About Linux

Seems that Microsoft has been sending Best Buy employees so called “training” material that pretty much warps and attacks the Linux Operating system, according to an anonymous Best Buy employee. The memos sent from Microsoft present very obvious and sometimes lucid statements about the lack of support and people wanting a easy usage experience but also makes very controversial statements about other features and security. Many of them are contradictory claims such as Linux doesn’t get regular updates like windows and we all know thats not true, Then in another memo they state Linux is a hassle to maintain with accuracy because it gets “hundreds of updates” per month.

The claims also further exaggerated incompatibility and support on Linux, suggesting that “few” devices are supported, that things like video chat won’t work, and that there is no official help solutions for it. Linux does have support and supports common devices, including apps that can recognize iPods. Third-party apps like Pidgin provide support for video and other chat features, and Linux distributions like Ubuntu or Red Hat often provide official support. Ubuntu is also 100% free By the way.

For Windows-only apps, Linux has had access to WINE and Wine-Doors for free virtualization of some titles, including 3D games and works very well.

Microsoft has been asked about the materials but has neither confirmed nor denied their legitimacy. However, the material is both consistent with Microsoft’s visual style as well as its frequent attempts to discredit Linux as a threat.

Microsoft is also known to have used wild claims to attack Apple through “Laptop Hunters” ads and other promos that have often chosen products to either create apparent gaps in value or to make them seem wider than they really are. One study paid for by Microsoft deliberately chose Apple’s Mac Pro workstation and the pre-price reduction MacBook Pro as home systems but chose Windows systems in significantly more modest product categories.

For those of us using Mint or any other flavor of Linux its pretty apparent what the better operating system is or we would not have stuck with it. It would seem as Linux has evolved. Microsoft has become very defensive about their position since they have a lot to lose. I’m a very happy Ubuntu User I have no crashes my screens don’t freeze and I haven’t seen the Blue screen of death for well over a year my laptop runs as its supposed to and I’m just plain Happy with all the free software that is out there that does all the things windows can do and more.

– Have you purchased any items for your home that are still stored away? 3. Do you have the experience but lack the time it takes to accomplish your design goals?

– Are you too busy with work and family and can’t find the time for home projects?

– Are you having a hard time agreeing with your spouse or roommate when it comes to home or apartment decorating?

– Are you unsure of how to decorate your space in a way that makes your feel comfortable?

Your answers to the questions will help you determine if you should take on the assistance of an Interior Designer. The services of a designer will help you immensely.

One of the biggest reasons to hiring the consultation services of a Designer is that they have the expertise to turn your vision of comfort and beauty into a living reality. This could mean buying the wrong furniture or choosing the wrong paint colors. Mistakes can be costly! Interior Designers are experts in their field just like plumbers or electricians. Each has a particular set of trade skills they have learned through education and experience.

One key point to keep in mind is that all Designers are different with unique talents, education and experiences. Interior Designers work with a great team of professionals and special vendors that can get the job done right. The consumer does not have this in-depth, privy information that makes the Designer even more valuable.

Referrals may or may not be given by your Designer simply because past Clients are not willing to give out private information about them. General questions may be acceptable like what kind of projects were completed and was the client satisfied with the results.

You can ask your Designer what types of projects they have completed and if they are experts in home or office design, residential or commercial. Prices will vary so don’t think you can’t afford one. Even if you are on a budget, many Designers will work for you. Most charge by the hour and it can range from $50 to $300 an hour and upward depending on the design project.

Disney or Cartoon Network?

I love cartoons, and of course, my cute, adorable, and sweet little kids love them, too. Every evening, before going to bed, we watch the latest episodes of “The PowerPuff Girls”, or “Dexter’s Laboratory”. There is some argument on which is better, of course. I like Dexter, while they prefer Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup.

I have tried to share with them my all-time passion for Disney cartoons, but after a few attempts I had to give it up. They fancy watching Cartoon Network more than watching Sleeping Beauty, so they convinced me to watch TV with them, even if I’m still in love with my classic Disney cartoons. 

Any time we go on holidays, the long journeys make them whine that they are bored, and they miss their cartoons, so they have asked me to buy them some player on which they could load their favorite episodes. First, I didn’t agree, but they kept on pleading and begging until I promised them I would get them an mp3 player with video capabilities.

I eventually decided on buying the sansa view 8gb mp3 player . After the lady at the store assured me it was very easy to use, even for children, I bought two of them. I loaded them up with cartoons, put them in their boxes, and wrapped them as presents. You should have seen their faces when they opened their boxes and saw their new players.

Of course, now they don’t go anywhere without their new players. In no time at all they learned how to load cartoons and music on them, so I can watch my Disney films now, without having to argue with them. After I have uploaded some “Tom and Jerry” on their players, they asked for more, so maybe they’ll start enjoying Cinderella, too.
